Visual Next and ColourMart Partner to Offer Precision Color Processes in PLM

Visual Nex and ColourMart are partnering to bring precision color management to the Visual PLM™ platform. Color Lifecycle Management (CLM) improves the speed and accuracy of color palette management, lab dip approvals, bulk fabric color QC, and other color processes.

Montréal, Canada - July 12, 2018 /PressCable/ —

Two industry pioneers and leaders in their respective technology spaces have formed a strategic alliance to integrate precision color management capabilities into PLM and help fashion and related companies transform a traditionally manual, subjective, and time-consuming Color Lifecycle Management process.

Montreal, QC, Canada and Shrewsbury, UK – July 11, 2018 – Visual Next, leading provider of End2End solutions for the fashion, footwear, and accessories industries, and ColourMart, Ltd., a developer of cloud-based color management solutions, are partnering to integrate precision color management capabilities into Visual Next’s renowned Visual PLM platform. The addition of Color Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools to Visual PLM promises to streamline and improve the speed and accuracy of color palette management, lab dip approvals, bulk fabric color QC, and other color processes.

According to Visual Next’s Vice President of Research and Development Charles Benoualid, “With so many fashion retailers, brands, and manufacturers challenged by the lack of speed and accuracy around color-related processes, we saw the addition of CLM capabilities as a natural extension of PLM. In much the same way PLM accelerates and brings transparency and collaboration to product development, CLM can transform traditionally manual, time-consuming, and subjective color tasks into more accurate and responsive processes with permanent removal of time, costs, and errors.”

ColourMart’s innovative PaletteManager solution is used by colorists, designers, and developers to develop and manage color palettes. Advanced search tools enable users to quickly search libraries by color, text, and other attributes. Users can sort, filter, edit, annotate, and manage library colors to build new palettes that can be split, combined, compared, and analyzed visually in 2D or 3D. The ColorFlow tool uses an intuitive dashboard display to track and manage the entire color approval process. It provides a much higher level of visibility and control to both specifiers and color suppliers (dye houses/mills) as they manage digital and physical color submissions and approvals.

“While color is one of the most important aspects of fashion, most PLM systems do not support digital color measurement and management processes,” explained ColourMart Owner Richard Lawn. “We have long believed that the marriage of PLM and CLM could accelerate and improve color decisions and applications. We are pleased with the opportunity to partner with Visual Next and look forward to empowering their customers to streamline and improve the accuracy of their color management and approval processes.”

Tottenham opposes selling temporary Wembley home to Khan

Oct 15, 2018

LONDON — The chairman of Tottenham opposes the Premier League club's temporary home of Wembley Stadium being sold to a rival for both soccer and NFL. With building work on its own new stadium in London overrunning by several months, Tottenham has been rescued by the English Football Association by being granted longer use of Wembley for its matches than originally agreed. When Tottenham's new venue is eventually completed, it will be hosting at least two NFL matches per season under a 10-year deal in competition with Wembley and its prospective new owner. Shad Khan, who owns the Jacksonville Jaguars...

January trial set for man charged with killing golf champ

Oct 15, 2018

AMES, Iowa — A judge has scheduled a January trial for a 22-year-old Iowa drifter charged with killing a top amateur golfer from Spain. District Judge Bethany Currie ruled Monday that Collin Richards will stand trial Jan. 15 for first-degree murder in the death of Iowa State University student Celia Barquin Arozamena. Richards entered a written not guilty plea Monday morning and waived his right to a speedy trial. The filing canceled an in-person arraignment hearing that had been scheduled for later Monday. Investigators say Richards attacked Barquin on Sept. 17 while she was playing a round at a public...

Simona Halep earns 2nd straight year-end No. 1 ranking

Oct 15, 2018

LONDON — Simona Halep is back as the year-end No. 1 for the second year in a row, despite a back injury that doctors say could lead to a long-term problem. Halep, who won her first major title at this year's French Open, clinched the year-end top tennis ranking on Monday but may be forced to pull out of the upcoming Kremlin Cup and the season-ending WTA Finals because of a herniated disk. "I haven't practiced 100 percent yet but today, tomorrow, I will do close to 100," Halep said in a conference call, "and I will be able to...

Jets get 'bittersweet' victory over Colts, look to improve

Oct 15, 2018

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The New York Jets have consecutive wins for the first time in more than a year, and they're feeling good about getting back to .500. The way they got there, though, was far from satisfying. And it has them motivated to improve. "It's one of those bittersweet victories," cornerback Morris Claiborne said after the Jets' 42-34 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday . "You played well enough to win the game, but you feel like you could've played a lot better. You never want to give up that many points." Jason Myers kicked a franchise-record...

Chargers romp over Browns on first stop of London trip

Oct 15, 2018

CLEVELAND — The Los Angeles Chargers won't spend their lengthy lay-over for London mulling a loss. Powered by a dominant running game, big plays from quarterback Philip Rivers and a rookie kicker who didn't miss in his NFL debut, the Chargers rolled to a 38-14 win on Sunday over the Cleveland Browns and rookie QB Baker Mayfield, who got little help from his teammates. Nearly two years after leaving FirstEnergy Stadium in disgrace after the Browns beat them for their only win in 2016, the Chargers (4-2) won their third straight and made sure their next few days would be...
